Take Care of your Tires so they Take Care of You

You probably already know the importance of having a good amount of tread on your tires. Having fresh tires can prevent blowouts and will have good traction when driving on wet roads.

You have probably heard of the penny trick: hold a penny upside down and stick it into your tread. If the top of Lincoln's head is showing, it is time for new tires. While this is true, it is much wiser to get new tires before the top of Lincoln's head is showing. Instead of using a penny, try using a quarter. The distance from the top of the presidents' head to the edge of the quarter is larger than that of the penny. If the top of Washington's head is showing, you should get new tires.

If you are not sure if you need new tires or just need to get your tires replaced, stop by our dealership in Gaithersburg and we will lend you a hand.
